About
Phoebe is an aspiring historian who hails from the ex-mining village of Cwm Clydach in the Rhondda Valleys, Wales. Her heritage heavily influences her work which mainly revolves around, but is not limited to, 20th century Welsh cultural, social and industrial history. Phoebe is particularly interested in oral history and capturing the ways in which gender, class and industry influences collective identity and culture in working class communities. Some of Phoebe’s other areas of historical interest include, the Tudor court, post and pre revolution Russia and Thatcherism’s impact on Britain. Phoebe completed her BA in history from Bath Spa University in 2022, and her MA in history from Cardiff University in 2023, both with first class honours. Throughout her studies Phoebe worked for the Bath Preservation Trust as a museum assistant and was mainly based at No1 Royal Crescent and the Herschel Museum of Astronomy which allowed her to gain good insight into the heritage industry as well as a decent knowledge on the social, domestic and scientific history of Georgian England. Phoebe is now working as a research assistant and is currently working on PhD applications.
